Building on a Legacy of Success

State and local leaders, college presidents, board members, faculty, students, family and friends gathered to pay tribute to Chancellor Glenn DuBois at the Science Museum of Virginia on May 21, 2022.  Dr. DuBois has served as the Chancellor of Virginia’s 23 community colleges for 21 years, which is longer than any other Chancellor since the system was founded in 1966.  Proceeds from the event raised $1.45 million for the DuBois Student Success Fund.

Established in 2010 by members of the State Board for Community Colleges with the Virginia Foundation for Community College Education, the DuBois Student Success Fund provides statewide support to help students with unforeseen financial emergencies, needs, or events that threaten their continued education. Emergency assistance grants ensure students have the resources they need when faced with unexpected hardships including needs related to food, housing, and medical care.
