Building on
a Legacy of Success
Retirement Celebration for Chancellor Glenn DuBois
Let us dedicate ourselves to the task of ensuring that our community colleges continue to be game-changers for another 50 years. Let us be the institutions that bring hope to communities too familiar with despair; let us bring prosperity to individuals too familiar with poverty; and let us be the reason the next chapter of the Virginia story is an amazing one. Let us be the leaders who put a college graduate into every Virginia home.
– Glenn DuBois, October 12, 2016
The Event
We are celebrating the profound impact of our chancellor, Dr. Glenn DuBois, and the legacy of student success he established while at the helm of Virginia’s community colleges for 21 years. It is this legacy that will continue to guide and spark our colleges in their mission to serve the Commonwealth. Proceeds from this event will benefit the DuBois Student Success Fund.
The Fund
Established in 2010 by members of the State Board for Community Colleges with the Virginia Foundation for Community College Education, the DuBois Student Success Fund provides statewide support to help students with unforeseen financial emergencies, needs, or events that threaten their continued education. Emergency assistance grants ensure students have the resources they need when faced with unexpected hardships including needs related to food, housing, and medical care.
This fund has been vital to improving student outcomes.
– Mrs. Connie Kincheloe, Former Chair (2004-2005),
State Board for Virginia’s Community Colleges (2002-2006),

Thanks to critical financial support from the DuBois Student Success Fund, students are on track to continue their education and achieve their goals.
