Fellowships are awarded to full-time, second-year students who have strong academic records and demonstrate leadership potential in designated fields of study. In addition to financial awards to help advance their academic studies, Fellows participate in special activities including conferences, meetings, and presentations designed to highlight aspects of leadership in the public and private sectors.

“This VFCCE Fellowship has opened numerous doors that I once thought to be impossible to reach, including a visit with the Lieutenant Governor, which is something that not a lot of people have the opportunity to do. Lieutenant Governor Hashmi is an individual I admire. I’m a Muslim South Asian woman myself, and to see someone who shares a common background with me in a position of power inspires me to continue pursuing my dreams.”
